Executing the policies of the city council are City government’s top administrators; the city managerchief operating officer and chief administrative officer. These three administrators head up the Administration Department and provide the direction the rest of the City organization follows. Falling within the Administration Department are two sections; Internal Audit and the Public Information Office.

Internal Audit provides audits and consulting services designed to promote transparency, accountability, efficiency and overall effectiveness of City government.

The Public Information Office (PIO) is the primary source of outreach for Las Cruces municipal government. Within PIO are the Community Relations Coordinator who serves as a liaison between city council and the public and oversees City-funded special events. PIO develops and issues news releases, a variety of other print materials, and operates CLC-TV, the City of Las Cruces’ government access channel on Comcast cable channel 20.
