Welcome to the Transportation Department. We provide services that facilitate the transportation needs of the citizens of Las Cruces and includes the RoadRUNNER Transit system, the Las Cruces International Airport, Fleet Services, and Streets & Traffic Operations.
The goal of the RoadRUNNER Transit system is to provide safe, dependable, and convenient public transportation services and operates nine routes that serve the City and Mesilla; and 4 routes that serve NMSU and DACC. The Dia-A-Ride Paratransit operation provides services for senior citizens and those persons who fall under the provisions of the American's With Disabilities Act.
Las Cruces International Airport
The Las Cruces International Airport strives to contribute to a positive economic growth climate for commercial and industrial aviaion-related businesses. It is a thriving general aviaion airport located on the City's West Mesa. The airport has three runways, a full-service Fixed Base Operator, ample tie down space, and plenty of room to grow.
The goal of the Fleet Services section is to provide competent, responsive, and cost effective services that ensure that equipment used for City operations is safe and reliable.
Streets & Traffic Operations (STO)
STO aims to provide a safe and efficient transportation environment for vehicular, pedestrian, and bicycle traffic through the maintenance and operation of the City streets, sidewalks, drainage system, and flood control facilites. They are responsible for the management and operations of traffic flow along City streets which includes the installation and maintenance of traffic control devices, traffic calming measures, and street lighting.
