From El Molino through Amador Avenue is open to traffic with intermittent lane closures. Access to businesses will be maintained. Motorists wanting to get to businesses can do so by following the detours in place. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed through the construction zone and should proceed with caution. Motorists using this road as a through route only should seek alternate routes if available.

From Lohman Avenue through South Main Street will be closed to through traffic. Access to businesses will be maintained. Access to businesses will be maintained. From Northrise Drive to Sonoma Ranch Boulevard will have shoulder work and alternating lane closures. Access to businesses will be maintained. Motorists wanting to get to businesses can do so by following the detours in place. From Rinconada Boulevard to Roadrunner Parkway will have left lane closures. Access to businesses will be maintained. Motorists wanting to get to businesses can do so by following the detours in place. From Main Street to Hadley Avenue will have shoulder work and a right lane closure. Access to businesses will be maintained. Motorists wanting to get to businesses can do so by following the detours in place. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed through the construction zone and should proceed with caution. Motorists using this road as a through route only should seek alternate routes if available.

From Chestnut Avenue to Cambridge Drive will have a right lane closure for north bound motorists. Access to businesses will be maintained. Motorists wanting to get to businesses can do so by following the detours in place. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed through the construction zone and should proceed with caution. For information regarding closures you may WSMR at 678-1178 or 678-2222 for updates. Alerts will be present on the digital message board along US-70 east bound within the Las Cruces area.

road cone on its side Railroad Crossing Maintenance for Southern New Mexico
The New Mexico Department of Transmportation (NMDOT) will continue working with BNSF Railway as maintenance repairs various routes. These operations will require closures to be placed, which will impact motorists. 

Las Cruces, NM

  • Monday June 17, 2013 at 6:00 a.m. BNSF will place traffic control at the intersection of University Avenue (NM-101) and Main Street (NM-478)
  • Tuesday June 18, 2013 at 6:00 a.m. an additional closure will be on Valley Avenue and N. Main Street
  • Wednesday June 19, 2013 at 6:00 a.m. will also have a closure on Brown Avenue

These routes will be CLOSED by BNSF as work progress in order to secure a safe environment for the public. The closures will be lifted as soon as work is complete in those sections and the area is clear for traffic, which is scheduled for the end of business on Thursday June 20, 2013.

Motorists are encouraged to avoid these areas until the work zones are cleared, as these closures cannot be removed until work is completed. Traffic control will be posted alerting motorists of detours. 

road cone standing up I-25, Truth or Consequences to Socorro NM
The NMDOT in conjunction with Apache Construction will be working on guardrail upgrades between mile marker 83-175 from February 2013 until November 2013. The contractors daily operations will be Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Motorists will encounter lane drops and reduction in speed at various locations as this progresses.

road cone on its side US-70, Picacho Avenue, Las Cruces, NM
The NMDOT and Star Paving will continue paving operations along the inside lanes. Traffic will be restricted to one lane for traffic traveling east and westbound from the Rio Grande to Motel Blvd. Motorists will encounter lane closures throughout this work zone. Business owners and residents will still have access on Picacho, yet the traveling public may encounter delays, due to heavy equipment and paving operations. Motorists are advised to proceed with extreme caution. 

road cone standing up NM-136, Anthony, NM
The NMDOT along with C.F. Jordan Construction, LLC will continue roadway rehabilitation on NM-136 from mile marker 4.2-9.33. The westbound driving lane on NM-136 is closed at the intersection of Strauss/NM-136 for approximately 1/4 of a mile with a 45 MPH speed limity. In addition the westbound shoulder on NM-136 will continue to be closed from mile marker 6.0 to the Texas state line until the completion of the path. This project will periodically have a single lane closure along the entire length of the project. Shoulder work will be throughout the project at various locations along NM-136, please proceed with caution and obey traffic notifications.

road cone on its side US -70 Del Rey Blvd. to NASA Exit, Las Cruces, NM
The NMDOT with Smith and Aguirre, Construction will have construction along US-70 starting at Del Rey Boulevard Exit (151 exit) to NASA Exit (161 exit). The contractor will have EB inside lane closed and WB shoulder closed from mile marker 151 to 153. The operations will be ongoing Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. during this time motorists will encounter the inside lane closure as vehicles approach the work zone throughout the duration of the project.

The NMDOT will be blade patching on NM-9 from mile marker 33 - 38. Working operations will start at 8:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Monday June 10, 2013 through Friday June 14, 2013. Traffic control will be placed throughout the project. Please proceed with caution and obey traffic control.

The NMDOT will be conductiong maintenance repairs on I-10 going eastbound. The right lane will be closed from mile marker 29-30, starting Monday June 17, 2013 at 7:00 a.m. and will last until Wednesday June 19, 2013. Motorists will encounter a lane drop throughout the work zone, proceed with caution. and obey traffic control.

The NMDOT will like to advise the traveling public that the NMDOT will continue to improve the pavement in the parking lot at the Santa Teresa, NM Port of Entry on NM-136. As of now this operation has no impact on the traveling public.

The NMDOT will start roadwork on US-60 at mile marker 117-130. Working operations will begin at 6:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. starting Monday June 17, 2013 and will continue until Friday June 21, 2013. Traffic control will have lane closures and will use a pilot car to escort motorists through the work zone. The contractor may have to adjust their work schedule to incorporate weekend should they encounter bad weather. Motorists will encounter minor delays during working hours, and are encouraged to obey traffic notifications.
