Administration


The Information Technology Department consists of the Department Director, two managers, each within their unique sector in the information technology field, security officer and execitive assistant. These sections are further divided into particular units. The unit members report to their unit leader, which in turn reports to their respective section manager; of which reports to and serves at the pleasure of the Departments' Director.

Department History


In the early 1980’s, data storage was centralized and only accessible to a few key people who understood the technology. Most user terminals were not user-friendly with sterile green screens and blinking cursors by which to initiate commands.

Security


The Information Technology Department has a security specialist who reports directly to the City's Information Technology Director. This position is assigned the responsibility for assessing the risk to, and developing mitigation strategies for, known threats relating to the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of the City’s data.
