The Las Cruces Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is a multi-jurisdictional planning agency located in south-central New Mexico, USA. The MPO is responsible for multi-modal transportation planning in Las Cruces, Mesilla and part of Doña Ana County. For more information see MPO Background
Name Change and New Member for the MPO
A new Joint Powers Agreement (JPA) between the City of Las Cruces, Dona Ana County, and the Town of Mesilla has been approved and will take effect on July 1, 2013. Among the changes included in the new JPA is a name change from the Las Cruces Metropolitan Planning Organization to the Mesilla Valley Metropolitan Planning Organization to better reflect the regional focus of the MPO.
Another change brought about by the new JPA is the addition of the New Mexico Department of Transportation District 1 Engineer to the MPO Policy Committee.
New Trail in Las Cruces is now open!
The Outfall Channel Trail connecting the Triviz Multi-use Path and the La Llorona Trail is now open. This completes the third link of a planned trail loop around the region.
