Mission
The mission of the City’s Community Development Department is to assist citizens to achieve their desired lifestyles by contributing to a better quality of life through community improvement. This is accomplished by integrating land use planning, transportation planning, affordable housing, and economic development to improve the built, economic, and social environment of our community.

The Community Development Department conducts a variety of planning activities for the City and serves the function of central permitting agency for building and construction permits, business registrations and a host of other activities.
