The Music in the Park Series
The City of Las Cruces Music in the Park Series begins each year on Sunday Memorial Day Weekend with the Mayor’s Jazz Fest and presented each Sunday throughout the summer ending on the Sunday of Labor Day Weekend.
Music in the Park is a 14-week musical extravaganza offering Las Crucens an eclectic mix of music performed by local, regional and nationally recognized artist, at Apodaca Park, Klein Park and Young Park. Music types include: jazz, rhythm and blues, Mariachi, classical, country, Tejano, bluegrass, new wave and pop, among others. The Series is Free!
The City of Las Cruces Fourth of July Celebration
The City of Las Cruces Fourth of July Committee, comprised of six members appointed by the Mayor, plans and coordinates the City of Las Cruces Fourth of July Celebration. The Celebration encompasses two nights and two days of activities presented to the public with free admission to all functions. Included in the activities are the Electric Light Parade (July 3rd), the Street Fest (July 3rd after conclusion of Electric Light Parade and July 4th), and the largest Fireworks Display in Southern New Mexico.
City of Las Cruces Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
The City of Las Cruces' annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony is held the first Friday in December between the new City Hall (700 N. Main St.) and the Branigan Memorial Library. The Mayor of Las Cruces will host the tree lighting ceremony.
Hot chocolate and snacks are served, and entertainment is provided by a local performer of group.
