Public Information Office
Helping keep the public informed about the workings of City government is one of the primary purposes of the Public Information Office (PIO). Meet the Staff.
PIO accomplishes this through many outlets including government TV, CLC-TV, Comcast cable channel 20, the internet, various print publications, news releases and paid advertising. The office also operates the City of Las Cruces switchboard and provides personalized service to those who visit City Hall.
In addition, PIO serves as a community relations liaison between City government and the public, and as special events coordinator for the annual Music in the Park series of free outdoor concerts, the July 4th Celebration, the Christmas Tree lighting ceremony and various other community events.
PIO is composed of an award-winning team of talented individuals. Awards include two Emmy® statuettes, National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors, TELLY Awards and Pixie Awards.
